You just never know. Last evening I was sitting in the living room when I saw a deer trying to eat the bird seed in our feeder. I went over to the window and started talking to this doe when I realized there were three young fawns eating the birdseed in the grass under the feeder. I was shocked that my talking did not completely scare the deer away–especially a protective mother. But food is an important priority at this time of year.
So I quickly escaped to grab my camera and was able to take a few photos before the deer wandered off. You just never know with wildlife subjects. Sometimes you can search for them all day and never see a thing. Then, all of a sudden, wildlife can show up unexpectedly.
I would have been bouncing of the ceiling had they showed up in my yard. What a great visit, now gove them a map and send them my way.

I have not forgotten the post we had corresponded about, but I got sidetracked with the posts about the opening and the photo from Mark, which seemed timely to post. It is always difficult to write the controversial ones-they take a lot of work.
I do not have the experience you do on this, Willard. Your blog is so informative and you are willing to tackle tough issues, which also makes your DVD such a treasure! I remember working for a boss who sometimes said in a bewildering situation, “This is enough to cross the eyes of a rabbi!” as he quoted Fiddler on the Roof. Difficult and sticky situations are not easy to address, which is why I sometimes remain quiet. Isn’t there another quote about remaining quiet and having people think you a fool rather than opening your mouth and removing all doubt? Fortunately, you do not have this problem. People listen to your wisdom and we should! I for one truly appreciate the thoughtfulness and depth of your blog. Thank you for that!
